Hi there, I am Katie. My first name is Inda (pronounced in-duh), hence the blog name. I started my coding journey in 2022 when I realized I was tired of taking college courses that had nothing to do with my goal. I started out in the psychology field and realized that taking multiple unrelated classes was very draining. I ultimately decided to switch my field of study, and then realized that I would have to continue doing the same thing if I were still enrolled in college. I wanted to get right to the nitty-gritty of it all and learn the real stuff, instead of what I was doing prior, which felt like nothing.
I ended up trying to learn how to code without assistance, by using things like coding apps on my phone and The Odin Project, I have nothing against those, I just found that it wasn't quite right for me, though I did learn a lot from them.
I ultimately decided to apply to a coding BootCamp. I researched several and found that the best for me was Flatiron School. I'm so glad that I applied and tomorrow, March 20th, I start the course. I completed the prework and found myself really enjoying the work, even though I found it difficult at times and even at one point wanted to pull my hair out.
But with all of that said, I've come a long way from a year ago, I've already built a personal website, a calculator, and many other projects that, in comparison to others, may seem small but I know that they are huge stepping stones for a great beginning.
